Routsong Rezoning Actions

Here are a few suggestions for what you can do to state your opposition to the rezoning of the parking lots surrounding the former Routsong Funeral Home.

Sign and return the petition you received in email. It is different than an earlier one you may have signed. Please print this out and take around to your neighbors to sign. If everyone just covers their own block, we'll have many signatures. Return the signed petitions to Millers, 6 Glendora Avenue. (Corner Irving and Glendora) by Sunday, January 25th.

Write a letter to Oakwood Register to voice your opinion. Email your letter to the publisher, Lance Winkler at lance@oakwoodregister.com

Write a letter to or call our City Council. They have a work session planned on January 26, 2009 and the commission meeting is February 2, 2009 at 7:30. We need to show them that citizens of Oakwood are concerned about this planned rezoning and development.

Attend the City Council Meeting on Monday, February 2, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. The more people at the meeting the better! We need to show the City Council that there is considerable citizen interest in this project. At that meeting Steve Young, president of North Oakwood Association, will make a statement from our organization opposing the rezoning and development. Please send your ideas to Steve for inclusion in his presentation.
